i configured a dyndns account at dyn.com/dns/
No panic, its for free IF you chose to test the PRO account. Then cancel the PRO Trial immediately and you can keep 1 dns host for free.
Forward the port at your router and access the WebIF portal via dyndns from the Internet...
i don't understand your question:
a non - ip or dyndns account has nothing to do with the Box itself.
It is just a way to enter your home network from the internet due to a 24h changing ip address of your internet provider.
- get an dyndns account / host
- enter this dyndns host at your router
- forward the specified port (for webif = 80) in your router for your box IP
--> enter webif of your box from all over the world
i use dyndns service an the webif to configure timers from work. There is no need of plugins at the gigablue...(okay, the webif plugin )
I'm asking this question because I'm using cccam, the official image for this box, had this feature included in the menu, and I'm use to use it. Yes. my router has dyn dns, but I'm used to install it in the box, not in the router. When I installed the new HDF image for Gigablue Solo I was looking a lot for it, and I didn't succeed to find it... . I'm requesting, if possible, to install this utility in the next versions.
Thanks
Yes, there are some other solutions, just I'm asking, if possible, to include this option in the next version because is an useful application.
