What have you done immediately before the box hung for the first time ?
How much images do you have in multiboot and which images ?
When the box hangs, is it reachable by SSH and OpenWebIf ? -
I didn't do anythig before the box hung for the first time.
I never used multiboot.
The box is reachable by SSH, not By OpenWebif; after opkg update command, SSH says "Could not lock /run/opkg.lock: Resource temporarily unavailable". -
Remove /run/opkg.lock and try again.

No change. After over 5 min reboot hangs.

I have restarted by rear switch, then restarted again by menu, which is satisfactory.
Can I flash online next image version w/out prior recovery? -
5 minutes is too short a time to wait.
Better wait 25 to 30 minutes.
If the box doesn't boot thereafter, flash v65.hdfreaks.cc/mutant51/openh…nt51-181-20220129_usb.zip or v65.hdfreaks.cc/mutant51/openh…0220129_recovery_emmc.zip anew.
Get busy with multiboot, it is one of the best features of enigma2 boxes and the images. -
Never waited more than 1 /2min to complete restart, under any image and with any box.

That doesn't mean anything.
I've seen boxes needing way more than 10 minutes to start. -
In that case, I would quit using enigma2 boxes....
