This plugin crashes the box and is not the real one for hdf image. Thats all.

So We can conclude that both plugins are not suitable for SF4008. fancy that!
Cutlist editor has always worked fine under all other images, HDF included!
It seems that version 6.5 shows many other problems, not only for SF 4008, see my posts about GBquad 4k and DM900

You have a lot of problems with your stbs, but no one other have the same problems.
The cutlist editor in HDF image works without any problems, if you are use the right one.
From my point of view - your are installing any plugins that you are found in the web and screams if its not working.
The CutListEditorAlternative is a plugin from vti and anybody knows the vti plugins are not really compatible with real open source images.
