BPanther Neutrino-MP for Spark 7111

Started from curiosity ... my Neutrino BPanther test proven to be a very pleasant surprize !

- the image is small ( ~ 18 Mb )
- boot time is small ( ~ 30 sec )
- drivers quality excelent
- the standard skin is a pleasant one
- the zapping is better than Spark or Enigma2
- emulators compatibility is excelent : Oscam and MgCamd !!!
- overall stability exceptional !!!

Just install the image ! you'll become a fan !
( as atachements you have the latest BPanther image and the settings editor )

In the atachement you have the most popular emulators !
just unpack the archives and move /var into image ! then
change attributes to the executables in /var/emu to 755 !!!
then edit oscam.server or cccam.list acordingly to your needs
and activate EMU from the menu ... as "client" !!! that's all !

What's missing in Netrino2 comparing with Enigma2 ...

- no alternate skins
- no user plugins
- less multithreading but better stability !!!
- off course no application server downloads

What's definitely better ...

- better zapping
- better image and sound
- better upgrade support witch include automatic user settings restore

In my opinion, Neutrino is the best image. If only TSmedia would work on Neutrino... Then it would be 100% complete.

But it is too bad that the plugin-support is almost non-existent.

First the external media ( usb stick or hdd ) must be phisical connected ... then
from Main_menu - Settings - Hard_Drive/USB must be mounted ... e.g. at /mnt/hdd
then we can play ...

file play the mounted media ... browse ...

playing a movie file ( mkv )

... or we can use WebTV ... and it works !!!

... or we can browse for a picture ...

... or we can see a show using Youtube player ... and it works !!

... in my case ... theese are satisfactory !

It is much easier to label the main hdd:
e.g. in Telnet :
tune2fs -L RECORD /dev/sdxy <----here your drive device. Then make a reboot, the HDD will automaticly mountet at /hdd and put the folder movie on it:
mkdir /hdd/movie.
That´s the default in the record settings.
or....
Use the HDD menu for initialising > partitioning > formatting the HDD, inclusive the needed folders were made and the device will be labeled so.
The other devices e.g. usb pens you will find automaticly mountet in : /tmp/mnt/device-label

we are still working on it, in neutrinoMP seife and martii are providing a lua-plugin interface you can get the gui items from neutrino over lua shared, in neutrinoHD2 the plugin interface is using the whole neutrino API if you can c/c++ you can easly write some plugins for neutrino

In Spark and Enigma2 there is a profile file ( lircd ) witch describes
the alternates RCU ! probably they dont have the same thing for
Neutrino BPanther !!! anyway is just an exception ! buy a new RC ...

New version for BPanther Neutrino !!! first ... make from the menu a total backup of running
image settings ... then upgrade and restore the settings from the memory stick !!!

P.S. The image has some problems with the RC ... is repeating a pressed button
even if you are pressing for a very short time !!! need to be worked !

Go to : settings > key setup .
May be the generic delay is to short.

Seems ALL E2 people have this thing about going back to Spark :dash:

I've tried to install this image on my GM Spark Reloaded but nothing.I've tried from USB Stick and nothing then I've tried to upgrade from USB being already on Spark.What's wrong?Please help me!I'm Neutrino fan!Thanx in advance!

Where ist the Problem to press the buttons on front panel to boot spark ?
Doing this by Gui could be dangerous, and in worst case > bootargs or bootloader can be destroyed.
And a hint:
BPanther 7111 Spark Image is dedicated for pingulux and similar.
He hasn´t a reloaded for testing. ( I think there´s another vfd Display )

Its working on Spark 990 so thats not your problem.
Have you made shure that you have put the 2files into a FOLDER named (enigma2) ?
Have you formated your stick with fat32 ?
And run the Stick from the front Button ( use the info on how to do this ) here on the forum.
I am a Spark Freak and the Spark Firmware is for me. :thumbsup:

The perfect RC key repeat delay is 250 ms !!! just enter Menu-System settings-Key setup and set
both values to 250 ms ! fast enough with no false repeats ! the new setting become effective after
"reboot" !!!

@nandy --- you can install in Spark the plugin "e2upgrade" witch allows you
to upgrade the enigma2/neutrino partition in a fast and safe way !!! just put
the /enigma2 folder containing the two image files ... on a memory stick ....
insert it and ... start the plugin ... start the OSD ... choose the /enigma2
path and start upgrade ...then from the front pannel ... at power on time ...
press and mentain OK ... and you can change boot mode to ENIG using CH DWN.

a little bit more comfortable, just to stay relaxed on the sofa, could be:
Move inside Spark to Factory Settings, if the item "Boot to E2" is not yet visible, press "EPG 5 2 1 0" on your remote control, 2 Clicks more and Neutrino/E2 will boot.
