Neutrino test: spark7162_BASE-rev5748_NHD2e-rev1352 - feedback and questions

    • Why a so called mount manager ?
If the values in the menu are right, or using the telnet command with the right values : it MUST work, otherwise there is something wrong
A mount manager like in E2 uses at least always the same functions of busybox or the automounter with autofs.
When I mount my win2008 server ( nfs Service ) it works, also when I mount a share from another STB where the nfs Server was activated.

What do you mean with progressing ?

I only build the Image, the development of NHD2 is mainly in mohousch hands
    • Thanx, Oldie!

Well, I have an otherwise wonderful Linux based (NFS) Synology DS210j and it works flawlessly with E2, in a variety of boxes but not in Neutrino. Not being funny or "political", i.e. "ideological" about it - just saying "It isn't working very well, stably and reliably"... And asking how it might be improved...

So, for NFS I use the E2 Network Browser plugin and quickly get the NFS shares going without any problems, ever. I would really like to see this in Neutrino, that's all. The same compared in the same way, in different OSs...

In E2 Network Browser is not working in the same way if I try to mount CIFS (without password in Win), just to mention. I must use the Mount Manager for that. It takes a little longer, inputting the data but it works fine.

Mind, if we had a proper model/syntax for fstab mounting of shared folders, maybe it would work better and work properly in Neutrino, as well? I would like to test it, if you could provide us with the model... Pretty please... :thx:

I hope you understand I really would like to see steady improvements to Neutrino and hence I'm making an effort in reporting back my findings...

You mentioned you would compile an image, if I remember correctly, over the weekend, that's all... ;) And you haven't responded, I must notice, hehe...

Ahaaaaa... I had no idea. Thanx for the info and once again compliments to the Chef!

It is really refreshing, as my colleagues from different forums have noticed, that the developer and compiler are in such good spirits, when it comes to talking about their products, listening to the users, unlike some other teams... Double thumbs up, in all our names!!! :danke:

      Sooooo... :D How's it progressing, M? :allesgute:
    • @gorski
NHD2 is open Source like other neutrino project and every one is welcome to contribute ;)
DboxOldie provides many patches for spark7162, thx for his help :D
officialy there no team we are just working together in our hobby time.

with git link that you have mentioned on the topic of your post you can build easly an NHD2, NMP or E2 images, elsewhere thy for reply.

      EDIT:
Pinky1968 is also sharing its image (NHD2/Enigma2) google as evolux or evotriple) as search word.

If this is NHD2, does it really support all 3 tuners?
If so, it is possible to create a combined list, where 1 station is listet with Sat andCable combined so that you don't have to care?
It Enigma2 it is known as alternative stations.

yes, you dont have to care :D
i dont have exactlly understand what do you mean? if you try do cable, terrestrial and sat scan e,g neutrino create a mixed services list and providers list same named channel will appear as cable in cable section and so on and you can switch e.g to this canal as you like as cable, terrestrial or sat on the top of the canal infobar you will see the name of reception (sat or cable provider) name and at the bottom right which tuner index is right used.
    • Sorry for delay in answering:

What I mean is a list, where lets say ZDFneo is listed just once (independent on ways of reception). But in background I have 3 ways to receive this station: via cable and 2x via sat.
The order is defined by a setting (order orf reception - Cable-Sat-DVB-T as example, and prio of Tuner C as example). In Enigma2 the result is the following:
First try to receive station via cable. Is this is not possible (recording is running), use Sat with Tuner C first. Only if this is not possible user Tuner B.

This avoids jumping between different list. It makes things much easier. I mean, my friend has no idea which station is received on cable or sat. Often they can be received on both ways, but not always.

For me, this is a real killer feature for Enigma. So great - I love it. It is called alternative setting.

The only missing is, that lets assume a record has been started (cable) and you want to watch a channel which is only available via cable -> shifting the record to a sat channel. But probably this is something I have to keep in mind by myself.
Mutant HD1500 - leider hier keine akt. Images mehr
    • Hi, gorski..

Yeah, there is an actual NHD2 : spark7162_BASE-rev5884_NHD2e-rev1548_flash.zip

Put this in your e.g. Filezilla : nhd2-images.dyndns.org

and pick the Image up ( Info : the FTP - Server isn´t always running )
There are also the Dual Versions > they contain Neutrino MP and Neutrino HD2 for flashing to the spark e2 partition.
Next days I will put there also a new version.

      have fun... :D
    • Thanx, m8! I will wait for your version!

Can you additionally explain a bit, please, the differences re. which version is what type, please? Maybe it's the language but I am now unsure which version does what, of the two you mentioned...

EDIT: I have these two links for those two flavours of Neutrino HD

      image.familienforum.biz/7162/mp/

      image.familienforum.biz/7162/nhd2/

      Cheers!

    • Well:

spark7162_BASE-rev5884_NHD2e-rev1548_flash.zip > the actual build today

NHD2e-rev1548 > Neutrino HD2 Revision 1548, more developped as the version you tested in thread title. ( e.g YouTube Player and some plugins are integrated )

NMPe_r5250 > Neutrino MP Revision 5250, just a little bit older.

To see the differences > just flash them, and see by yourself. ( Flashing lasts only a few minutes with reboot )

Both are Neutrino from different developer

      Edit:

If you use Firefox or IE you have to add : ftp://..... before the server address

      Next Edit:

hehe, those are old versions which thomas added there....

      Edit3:

well thomas actually added the today Version :D
