Could Someone Give me Advice on Upgrading My Home Cinema Setup

  • Could Someone Give me Advice on Upgrading My Home Cinema Setup

    Hello Everyone <3 :saint:

I hope you all are doing well; I am new to the forum and am looking forward to connecting with other home cinema fans that share my enthusiasm. I have always enjoyed watching movies; and I have recently considered upgrading my home theatre experience. Right now, I am trying to improve my present system; which is somewhat obsolete. I would greatly appreciate some advice, particularly from those of you who have worked with UHD players and home audio systems.

    Current Setup:
    TV: Sony X900F
    Blu-ray Player: Panasonic DMP-BDT360
Sound System: A simple 5.1 soundbar system with a subwoofer, which I believe might provide a more immersive sound.

I have been reading reviews and doing some research, but I am overwhelmed by the quantity of alternatives available; particularly for UHD players and audio systems. I am wanting to hear from anyone who has actual experience with equipment that produces excellent picture and sound quality.

    • I am thinking of acquiring a dedicated UHD player to truly appreciate 4K material. I have heard good things about the Panasonic UB820 and Sony UBP-X800M2. Has anyone used either of these? How do they compare in terms of playback quality and overall user experience? Are there any other models you'd recommend in the midrange pricing range? I am mostly interested in video processing; HDR handling; and load times.
    • I am considering upgrading to a genuine 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound system. I'm aware that there are numerous options available, including soundbars, AV receivers, and standalone speakers. Would it be a substantial upgrade from my existing soundbar setup to purchase something like the Sonos Arc with surrounds and subwoofer? Or do you prefer a more typical AV receiver and speaker combination, such as the Denon AVR-S960H with Klipsch or Polk speakers? I want the sound to be immersive without being too difficult to set up and operate.
    • I want the change to last for several years; therefore I'm considering options like Dolby Vision, HDR10+, and Dolby Atmos compatibility. How significant are these characteristics going forward, and are there any future technological improvements to consider when making these purchases?
Budget: UHD Player: Up to €500.
    Audio System: Up to €1500

Also I explored some topics related to this https://www.hdfreaks.cc/index.php/Thread/20990-Aufnahmen-NASdevopstraining=135662&highlight=Cinema%2BSetup#post135662 but I did not get the sufficient solution of my query so I would really want to get some help from a more experienced person

I would love to hear your suggestions or experiences with specific products. If you have any advice or items to look out for when purchasing these, please share! I'm open to any ideas to help me make the best investment for a fantastic home cinema experience.

Thank you in advance for your support; and I look forward to learning from this amazing community. ^^ ^^ ^^

Well, I wouldn't call it wrong, we are in the talk and offtopic section here, and here there have been other discussions on subjects not directly related

    mentioned.

I am using a Denon AVR-X2800H DAB together with Fire TV 4k max 2nd Gen and 5.1 speakers from Teufel with Sony TV and Epson projector. I do like the cinema and sound experience.
