Which Firmware to use on a Rebox 9000 HD

    • Which Firmware to use on a Rebox 9000 HD

      Hi,

I Hope anyone could point me into the right directions.

I bought a Rebox 9000HD a week ago, since then I have been trying a couple of Firmwares.. using the AAF Recovery tool. is this the right way? should I use E2 firmware? or should I use some other imaging/flashing tool?
I like to have my CS working again. (my Dreambox 7000 broke down) What do i need to run a working CCcam again? and a stable firmware on the Rebox 9000.

FAC, IRD explain please what kind of format is this? just a image/firmware format that the developers are using or is there a special reason for?
any good howto's are more then welcome.

Thanks for all your help. if anybody out there is able to drop me some lines. :)

      Regards.

      M
    • Hi,

usually you should use the latest firmware from your reseller...
Before fw version 1.08.52 the firmwares have been released in two different types: one without plugin support, which usually have had the name IRD.1.XX.XX.RESELLER.ird, the other without plugin support, named FAC.1.XX.XX.RESELLER.ird (i.e. for the reseller Atevio).

Since fw version 1.08.52 there is only ONE firmware available, this fw has plugin support. Usually the firmware from different resellers (Octagon, Atevio, Arcon) will not differ from each other, i.e. except the skin (refers to the same version).
The ART is used to install the maxiuboot, which allows to change the "reseller ID" to install other original firmware (if you prefer an other skin) but mainly to install an E2 image.
ART can not install a .ird firmware file (refer to the ART manuals)!

No experience with cams or emus, sorry.

      regards
