[Request] ffmpeg with hevc decoder support

Hello,
I have a box with the BCM73625 chipset, that supports decoding hevc streams,
Want to make this request to the HDF developer community to enable ffmpeg with hevc decoder support.

Openhdf supports already HEVC with gstreamer.

I switch the serviceapp to gstreamer but it will not decode HEVC streams, only sound.
I notice too, gstreamer has fluidity problems decoding h264 streams (ffmpeg decodes fine h264)

Is this a global Openhdf problem or just with this box?

What is the videoresolution of your HEVC stream. Your box only introduce up to 1080p.

The resolution is 1920x1080, 30 fps

Ja ist nicht drinne in derzeitiger ffmpeg

x265 ist bei 3.4.1 normal und wird dort gut mitgebaut.
Wenn der Cheffe hier Lust kann er das ja mal auf die Buildumgebung für ARM/mipsel testen.

Einfach alles ffmpeg technische rein mergen.
Müsste auch bei den anderen Kisten passen.
DashDemux ist seit ffmpeg 3.4 schon integriert, daher kein zusätzlicher Patch.
Samsamsam hat die 3.4 auch aktiviert, also wird auch alles unterstützt(wenngleich er den Dashdemux wohl etwas anders umsetzt).
Wenn´s passt kannst es ja auch ruhig ins OE-git rein laden.
Tu mich da wegen mir nicht zur Verfügung stehender Boxen etwas schwer.

Edit: ups... da hätte ich doch fast was vergessen...
Wegen anderer Strukturierung müsste dann rtmpdump etwas anders gebaut werden (depends)

Gut, aber mit dem normalen G-Streamer sollte das ja laufen.

Und meinst mit Samsamsam den IPTV Player? Dann sollte man das auch mit ffmpeg im iptv player abspielen können.

I don't know if the translation is good, but if I understood correctly you mean disabling serviceapp, using "original" and 4097?
I tested this and could not decode HEVC streams(only sound), and has fluidity problems decoding h264 streams.

Which Zgemma Modell exactly?
Most of them does not support HEVC

Yes, this model supports HEVC.
Openhdf with gstreamer can decode it.

There should be a problem with the firmware of this specific model, it wont play HEVC.

your test file ist not playing correct on Gigablue 4k too.
Only sound, no picture.

with vlc at my PC it is playable.

Please test the following HEVC-Testfiles: x265.com/hevc-video-files/
they ar all playable on my Gigablue-Box

Ok, now I see the problem is at my test file, because the test files from you are playing nice except the 4K, but that was expected.
But my box, and definitely your box, should handle that file with no problem!
I feel like ffmpeg would handle this file correctly.

EDIT: Were there any recent regression in gstreamer that explains the h264 fluidity problem?

EDIT2: I decided to test other images to see if any had patched this, and the first I try OpenPLi 6.1-rc (2017-12-20 rc) my hevc streams work.
But h264 and hevc have the fluidity problem :dash:
